We well understand that Covid continues to cause concern, especially with the recent Omicron variant case spike. However, case numbers have peaked and this gives us confidence the situation will be better under control by the end of October. Based on the data, we are committed to a face-to-face meeting.

We are proceeding in accordance with current best practices to create the safest possible environment, which is our top priority.

Therefore, we are pleased to invite you to attend in-person to the 7th edition, ARWtr2022, which will take place again, at The Parador Royal Palace, in The Royal Village of Baiona, Spain, October (23)24-26, 2022.

The International ARWtr (Advanced Research Workshops on transformers) conferences are held in English language, every three years, under the auspice of IEEE-PES and CIGRE.

The aim of ARWtr is to provide a meeting among practitioners and specialists from the industrial, academic, and research world in a genuine atmosphere and constructive, to stimulate an exchange of practical knowledge on the basis of advanced research, as well as the establishment of links of collaboration on new experiences and issues in the specific area of transformers. This edition will promote hot-topics and far-reaching challenges about technology advances focused on smart and resilient applications and practices.

All attendees can participate as:

  • Authors, submitting and presenting their papers in Poster Sessions during Coffee-Breaks.
  • Speakers, delivering Key-note Lectures or a Tutorial in Oral Sessions.

  • Co-TechPartners, showing their competencies and lastest solutions in a technical exhibition during Coffee Breaks-Poster Sessions.

  • Students, applying to a reduced fee or gaining a grant in the Student Grant Competition awarded by CIGRE, IEEE PES, and RediNtransf.

  • Regular, none of the above categories.

This current 7th edition of the Conference comes back to be hosted in The Royal Village of Baiona for the third time. Baiona lies just on the Atlantic shore and is one of the most historically attractive coastal villages in Galicia, the green community in the Northwest of Spain. The Royal Village of Baiona has its own moment in the History when was the first in the Old World in knowing news about the New World, later called America. Such historical moment was in March 1493, when the Columbus’s first ship Carabela la Pinta, commanded by Pinzon and piloted by the Galician pilot Sarmiento, arrived in the Village. Nowadays, Baiona is connected by a motorway from the city of Vigo (15 minutes far). And Vigo is well communicated to the World by a good network of motorways, its airport (Peinador) and its railway station, where trains arrive via high-speed from Madrid. Santiago de Compostela (Labacolla Airport one hour far by motorway) and Porto-Portugal (Sa Carneiro Airport one hour and a half far by motorway) are useful international connections to get Baiona.

Keeping the former spirit of this event, the structure of the ARWtr2022 edition will consist of:
  • Oral Sessions. A group of outstanding specialists, the key speakers, will be invited to deliver fixed lectures on key topics. Proposals will be welcomed and they will be evaluated by Technical Committee.
